Cannon Beach Bed and Breakfast

Tillamook Rock Light House

A town not named was built on shore.
The Shark fell to roam no more.
The storm dug a remnant from down below.
The wind, pulling cannons, did blow.
Three cannons thrown by the sea.
Cannons gave it's name to be.

Men came to tame the mighty sea.
To build a light that ships may see.
The fight was painful and costly.
The ocean claimed lives and property.
At last the sea appeared to agree.
The lighthouse built, they called Tilly.

Terrible Tilly was what she earned.
The lighthouse keepers were who she spurned.
No man could stay his wage to earn.
By winds and waves all men were turned.

A mile to sea Tilly now stands.
Alone and unmolested by man.
In the day of space travel so grand.
Terrible Tilly resists the power of man.
